Chinese hackers are now targeting the most famous messaging application – WhatsApp.

Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of Ministry of Defence, the Indian Army has recently informed all the people of India for the Chinese hackers. Chinese hackers attempt to steal the user’s data from the messaging WhatsApp messaging application by sending some malicious messages.

Tweet shared by the Indian Army yesterday on March 18. Furthermore, Indian Army has also released the video. The videos relay the warning about the Chinese hackers which are targetting WhatsApp messaging application to steal user’s data. However, their video does not contain any other additional info that can lead us to know how the Chinese hackers are involved in all these malicious activities.

Furthermore, ADG PI has also tweeted the video in which they say – “The Chinese use all kinds of platforms to penetrate your digital world. WhatsApp groups are a new way of hacking into your system. Chinese numbers starting with +86 barge into your groups and start extracting all the data.”

Indian Army clearly says in their tweet in the Hindi language to Indian users to check their social media accounts on regular basis. If there any malicious activity is happening in their personal chat or especially in groups users should take the proper action as soon as possible. ADG PI informs the Indian WhatsApp users – “In case you change the SIM, destroy it completely.”

This is not surprising for us by any means. In November last year, the Indian Army has warned the people about the 42 applications which were stealing the user’s data. These 42 apps were caught and immediately they were removed from the Google Play Store.
