If you are not living under the rock, you might know the pre-orders for iPhone XR starts today. Thanks to Apple for finally making it available. The new iPhone XR will be shipped pretty soon. So, the iPhone XR has been priced at $749 for what Apple is providing the new A12 Bionic chipset as it is in their iPhone XS siblings.
The third new iPhone XR will be available in vivid colors such as white, black, orange, red, yellow, blue, etc, same as Apple’s iPhone 5C. And yeah it might be interesting to use iPhones again in such vivid colors. However, there are some feature which you might miss if you go for iPhone XR. So, let’s take a look at it what are those features!
1. Not a Great Display
Yes… starting with that thing which affects the most to your user experience – the display. Apple’s new iPhone XR features 6.1-inch ‘LCD’ display having a resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels which is not even close to Full HD resolution. So, of course, you will have to be happy with the 720p video quality on any video streaming platform.
Furthermore, if you have taken a look on the Verge’s review, the iPhone XR display shifts a little pink and drops brightness when you look at it off-axis compared to the iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone 8 Plus display is still better and comes with the 1920 x 1080p resolution.
2. Portrait Mode on Rear Camera only Works for ‘People’
If you have seen the Apple’s iPhone event live, Apple hasn’t made clear at their event that iPhone XR portrait mode doesn’t work with the object. The portrait mode only works for the people. Just in case if you don’t know, portrait mode means to apply that bokeh (blurred) background in the image by keeping people/object focused.
The new software ‘specially’ made for iPhone XR camera detects the face in the camera and when it founds the face, using its face detection feature it makes clear where are the boundaries and it applies the bokeh effect. But as the reviewer says, it doesn’t work with the objects. While we are still at the starting point we should hope that Apple might add the feature for objects too.
