A couple of months ago, there were some leaks of upcoming Apple's iPhone. Later on, leaks were converted into the reality. According to the previous reports, Apple will launch its three new iPhones this year. Like the previous one iPhones, three new iPhones will take their place in the market. Three new variant includes 6.5-inch iPhone with OLED panel, 6.1-inch iPhone with LCD panel and 5.8-inch iPhone with the OLED panel.
Now, the new information popped up on the internet. According to the reports, Apple's 5.8-inch variant will be the cheapest iPhone. It is said that this iPhone will be cheaper to manufacture for the Apple company. Surprisingly Apple planning to install the OLED panel on this iPhone. Apple's previous year's iPhone X got so huge price tag which was $999. So, this could be the good indication for all those Apple fans who cannot afford the iPhone X or thinking about the price!
Luke Lin, Digitimes research analyst made detailed research note. He said the manufacturing cost of Apple's upcoming 5.8-inch iPhone will be the 10% less than their iPhone X cost. In the company's language, it is said as a total bill of the materials (MBOM). Furthermore, he added that the MBOM of iPhone X which was around $400 in 2017. The number shows the significantly reduced cost and it clearly gives us hint. The company can give the position to their new 5.8-inch variant in the list as the cheapest iPhone.
Apple has now everything set to make their own microLED displays for their Apple devices. It looks like Apple is about to ditch Samsung's OLED panel. But unfortunately, Apple's 2018 iPhones are not the first on the list of microLED displays. Their Apple Watch will be the first product will have such microLED displays.
Somehow, Apple's iPhone X not did a good job in the market. There was a craze on the starting when it was launched. However, later on with the time, people were facing some major problems and because of that, the demand got affected. So, this time Apple would not take a chance to buy such huge amount of OLED panels from the Samsung. So, this led us to know, there will be more bargaining in chips.
If you can manage to recall, according to the previous rumors, Apple was planning to make their upcoming iPhones live with the LCD panels, however, it looks like the project is now no more. It is suspended.
