Xiaomi Mi 7 could be the first ever Android smartphone to arrive in the mobile market with the 3D facial recognition feature. After their successful launch of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, now everyone’s eyes are on Xiaomi Mi 7 device. The device is rumored to come in the first half of this year. However, if we take a look at some recent reports, it will be available in the third quarter of 2018!

3D Facial Recognition Feature: Main Challenge!

Apple introduced its iPhone X with the ‘Notch’. Now it is a trend in every new generation mobile phones. But what that notch houses? I think no one cares about that much. After Apple company, Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, such mobile phone companies have launched their mobile phone with the ‘notch’ on the front side on the top. iPhone X’s notch houses the 3D facial recognition system. This system includes the different sensors. It projects the 30,000 dots on the face and recognizes the human face and unlocks the phone.

Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to come with the 3D facial recognition system which will work on the advanced facial recognition technology. The 3D facial recognition system requires a 3D sensing modules. It is all about the integration of hardware and software which does the 3-dimensional scanning of the human face. According to the fresh reports of Digitimes claims that the suppliers of 3D sensing modules are facing the problem in to make a software and hardware. These 3D modules are being developed by the joint effort of Qualcomm, Himax Technologies, and Truly Optoelectronics.
