Rumors and leaks are popping up on the internet show the possibility of Samsung’s upcoming foldable device. Well, the rumors suggest its name as a Galaxy X. However yet no any confirmed news. But, at this year Mobile World Congress, Samsung’s CEO DJ Koh reiterated about the Galaxy X. He said their company is going to launch that foldable phone. Now, Apple joined the same waiting list of foldable iPhone.
According to the recent CNBC report, Bank of America Merril Lynch said that Apple company is in work with the Asian partners to manufacture their foldable iPhone.
Wamsi Mohan met the several Apple suppliers in Asia and he made a report. He said to the CNBC, “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”
Cupertino based tech giant Apple has launched its iPhone X with the unique design having the top notch and no Home button. The device is fully gesture-based. So, if we take it as a hint, yes, Apple’s upcoming foldable smartphone can also have the same bezel-less design and it will be operated using finger movements. Apple will add two different displays which could also make a tablet when you double up. However, with this small report, it is too early to say anything.
Apple has tough competitors in the market. Including Samsung
and Lenovo which have already demoed the foldable display concept while the other companies have already filed their patents of foldable devices. The report suggests, the Apple company could introduce their new iPhone after two years in 2020
. For 2018, Apple is working on three new iPhones
If you can manage to recall, last year a Korean news suggested that Apple’s foldable device will come with the OLED display and for that Apple might partner with the LG company. However, one thing here to notice. Apple has already started manufacturing of their microLED
displays. Somehow, Apple Watch will their first product to get this panels which will come on the market probably next year. So, Apple’s foldable screen iPhone have chances to get its own microLED panels.
