Deleting App is a trend nowadays. First people started the #DeleteFacebook and now after knowing that NAMO app is sending users data to American company users can’t control themselves to start a new trend #DeleteNAMOApp.

What is NAMO App?

PM Narendra Modi launched the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’. The application is a one-stop destination for knowing about all the latest day-to-day activities of the Prime Minister. The app brings all the latest information and updates about the Prime Minister. With just one click user can interact with the P.M. Narendra Modi Blogs and activities.

Elliot Alderson, A Security researcher decided to break down this app and look into the security. He found that when you create an account in NAMO app it sends your data including email address, photo, OS, network type, gender to a third party domain called in.wzrkt.com without user consent.

Further, he found that this domain is hosted in GoDaddy service. As per the G-data, this domain link classified as phishing.

After researching in various sources, This domain is the property of the American company CleverTap.  is the next generation app engagement platform. It enables marketers to identify, engage and retain users and provides developers.

To Protect data is not a Narendra Modi’s thing but the developer of the app has to do something with this.  Till this issue solved by them, I suggest you uninstall the application and use the website instead for a few days.
